Mr. Cohen-Arazi has over 20 years of experience in the medical and biotech industries involving executive management responsibility for both development and business. Prior to establishing Rainbow Medical, Mr. Cohen-Arazi served as CEO of IntecPharma, Israel, a company specializing in drug development and delivery. Previously, Mr. Cohen-Arazi was V.P. Corporate Manufacturing, Head of Contract Manufacturing and Site Head at U.S.-based Amgen Corporation, where he established and led several global strategic partnerships to develop and manufacture small molecules and biopharmaceuticals. Mr. Cohen-Arazi held senior positions at Immunex in the U.S. and at the Merck-Serono Group in Switzerland. Mr. Cohen-Arazi holds advanced degrees in Agriculture and Microbiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Gilad Lorberbaum Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Lorberbaum has 15 years of management experience at both big pharma and startup life sciences companies. Prior to joining Rainbow Medical, Mr. Lorberbaum served as CEO of NanoCyte Inc., a drug delivery company leveraging marine extracted microcapsules for active topical delivery, where he managed the product development process from concept to clinical studies, while executing licensing, collaboration, and finance agreements. Mr. Lorberbaum also served as a Vice President at Reico Venture Capital, managing a portfolio of 12 med-tech portfolio companies, and as a Director of Business Development at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (NASDAQ: TEVA), where he played an active role in Teva’s merger and acquisition activities and venture capital investments. Mr. Lorberbaum holds an MBA from the University of Hartford, Connecticut, and a B.A. in Economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Yossi Cohen CFO
Mr. Cohen brings to Rainbow Medical significant financial, tax, accounting, and merger and acquisition experience. Prior to joining Rainbow Medical, Mr. Cohen served as the Group Corporate Controller of SuperDerivatives, which provides web-based, market-calibrated platforms for derivatives pricing. Previously, Yossi also served as the Controller of Verisity Ltd. (NASDAQ:VRST), a leading provider of proprietary technologies and software products used to verify designs of complex integrated circuits, which was acquired by Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN). Mr. Cohen spent four years in public accounting at Kesselman & Kesselman in Tel Aviv (PwC Israel) and PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Jose, California, where he was responsible for high-tech clients. Mr. Cohen is qualified as a CPA in Israel and holds a B.A. in Economics and Accounting and an Executive MBA, both from Bar-Ilan University.
Ron Tavlin Business Development
Ron Tavlin joins Rainbow Medical with more than 25 years of private equity, venture capital and operational experience. Prior to joining Rainbow Medical, Ron founded and worked for 18 years as Managing Director of Omega Capital and Asset Management, a firm dedicated to early stage funding, investment banking, M&A and operational advisory services. Before founding Omega Capital, Ron was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy at Litton Industries with global M&A and business development responsibility. Ron held senior operational roles as general manager of numerous global business units. Ron holds a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from City College of New York and an MBA from the Stern School of Management at New York University.
Etti Lavian Group Administrative Director
Ms. Lavian brings extensive business development, marketing and administrative experience to Rainbow Medical from the bio-pharmaceutical field and other sectors. Prior to joining Rainbow Medical, she helped found IntecPharma Israel, a company specializing in drug development and delivery, and served as its Business Development Manager, responsible for introducing its platform to the industry. Previously, she held senior marketing positions with a number of large international project management firms.
Shirley Giorini-Silfen Vice President Clinical and Regulatory Affairs
Dr. Shirley Giorini-Silfen brings to Rainbow Medical over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry. Her professional experience includes strategic clinical, regulatory, scientific and commercialization planning and oversight required to take a device from concept to commercialization. Prior to joining Rainbow Medical, Dr. Giorini-Silfen served as VP of Clinical and Regulatory affairs at Gardia Medical, a startup company developing an embolic protection device, where she managed the product development process from concept to clinical studies in Europe and to pre-IDE approval in the USA. Dr. Giorini-Silfen also operated her own private consulting business while working in the Regulatory, Development and Commercialization Division at Kendle Australia. In addition, Dr. Giorini-Silfen served as VP of BioControl Medical BCM, a company acquired by AMS, USA, and directed the Clinical and Regulatory Department of Medtronic-InStent, a start-up company in the field of cardiovascular stents, acquired by Medtronic, Inc. Dr. Giorini-Silfen holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology from Tel-Aviv University and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
